1. Wear red lingerie: a classic of classics that could not be missing from this list. Wearing red lingerie at the end of the year is a way to “reset” and start the new year attracting happiness and good luck.

2. Eat a grape for every bell: Eating grapes on New Year’s Eve is already a tradition that almost no home renounces in Spain. To do it you will have to eat a grape for each chime and with each one think of a wish. The grape is a fruit associated with good luck, optimism and positivity, hence with them you will attract fortune and the wishes you make at the beginning of the year. If you don’t like grapes, you can replace them with olives, popcorn, jelly beans… don’t hesitate to adapt this ritual to your taste.

3. Kiss your partner: Kissing your partner or the person you love at the end of the year is said to attract luck in love at least during the months following the beginning of the new year.

4. Make up your eyes: The ancient Egyptians believed that makeup prevented evil spirits from entering the eyes. One more excuse to show off your makeup at the end of the year.

5. Coins under the doormat: To attract good luck and money, place six coins under the doormat and make sure you have your wallet full of cash and your pantry and refrigerator full to attract abundance.

6. Dance around a treeAnother classic New Year’s Eve superstition says that dancing around a tree outdoors during the transition from one year to the next attracts luck and prosperity.

7. Three jumps with cup in hand: Jump three times with a glass of champagne in your hand to attract abundance and good luck to the new year.

8. Throw a bucket of waterAnother tradition says that filling a bucket with water in the morning and emptying it at 12 will help all the bad energies that the bucket has absorbed during the day go away.

10. Sit down and get up with each chime: If what you want is to find a partner in the new year, tradition says that you will have to sit down and get up with each bell.
