The famous French couturier began his studies in political science at the Ecole des Sciences Politiques de Paris before beginning to work as draftsmen for the famous Parisian designer Robert Piguet, following his true vocation.

He founded his own company in 1946, being considered one of the most prestigious designers of the last stage of haute couture. The advance of ready-to-wear brought with it the closure of a large number of haute couture houses.
