5 Spanish fashion brands that ‘royals’ and ‘influencers’ trust

The events of 2023 have begun and they are no longer just Weddings, Baptisms and Communions (BBC). Social media may have something to do with the fact that taking long shots is no longer exclusive to the BBC and American films to become, also in Spain, something increasingly common.

Vegana

In this case, it was Queen Letizia who, in 2022, discovered this fashion brand founded by Carmen de la Puerta, when choosing one of her dresses for the October 12 fashion show.

Vogana is made and manufactured in Spain, “dedicated to the design of garments for women with personality and self-confidence.” And, according to her creator, what she seeks to convey behind each of her designs are “timeless garments that can be passed from generation to generation and that are recognizable,” she says.

With a showroom in Seville, they announce that they will soon arrive in Madrid.

Maria Barragan

A year earlier, in 2021, Doña Letizia appeared wearing a dress by designer María Barragán. A brand founded in 1992 that produces 100% of its garments in Spain, “being created and perfected in our workshops in Almería and Madrid, thus moving away from mass production.”

Currently, María and Elena, daughters of the designer, have joined the family project with OLENA, the line ready-to-wear “aimed at a broader audience, without moving away from the essence of the house; the care of each piece and the perfection that characterizes it.”

They have a store open to the public in Almería and Madrid, by appointment.

Celia B

A totally different bet is that of Celia B. Founded by the Asturian Celia Bernardo in 2012 in Shanghai, the city where she lived at that time. If the name doesn’t sound familiar to you, maybe its multicolored designs do if you’ve seen them in the famous series. Sex Education oa influencers like Olivia Palermo, Paula Echevarría or Laura Matamoros.

They are defined as a brand of slow fashion and in their manifesto they claim to believe “firmly in empowering people, to make them feel special and unique, through the creation of timeless, fun and unusual designs that transmit to those who wear them a spirit of uniqueness and freedom that goes beyond the fashion trends”.

In her hometown, Oviedo, Celia B has a showroom.
