The symptoms traditionally associated with a common cold are those that usually set off alarm bells in the mildest cases of omicron. However, they are not the only thing. Experts have warned that there is another, less well-known sign of the virus, which could lead us to confuse it with food poisoning. “With this variety, patients with gastrointestinal ailments worsen and have more symptoms,” American doctor Bill Admire stressed in statements reported by ‘The Sun’. According to this doctor, nausea, abdominal pain and vomiting or diarrhea could be signs of Covid.

Some studies have shown that people who have Covid-19 can sometimes experience gastrointestinal symptoms. In a work published in the ‘Journal of Microbiology, Immunology and Infection’, experts highlight that nausea and vomiting were two of the most common symptoms detected along with other common symptoms manifested in a coronavirus infection.
