A quality failure in a batch of Espidifén has caused its withdrawal. The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) reports the withdrawal of batch 370535 of Espidifen 400 mg granules for oral solution mint flavor with an expiration date of 01/31/2023 due to a “quality defect.” The problem is the potential presence of a metal element, in this case a washer, in one of the granule sachets from this lot..
Faced with this problem, the AEMPS indicates that it is proceeding to withdraw all the units of the affected lot present in the distribution and dispensing chain, for return to the laboratory.
What should you do when faced with an affected batch?
Do you have Espidifén 400 mg at home? Check if your container belongs to the batch that is the subject of the alert. If you have units, go to your pharmacy: there they will manage your exchange for another unit from a different lot.
