Lidl has withdrawn some popcorn from sale in its supermarkets due to the presence of a pesticide. As reported in a statement, its manufacturer is Liven SA, which indicates the presence of the pesticide Chlorpyrifos above the maximum permitted limit.
In isolated cases or due to high ingestion, symptoms may be tearing, salivation and general malaise. The affected products are salt popcorn 80 grams, microwave salt popcorn 3×100 grams and salt XXL popcorn 6×100 grams.
If you have purchased any of these products, you can return them to any Lidl store, where the purchase price will be refunded, even without presenting the purchase receipt, as announced by the company. No other Snack Day brand product distributed by Lidl Spain is affected by this alert. The manufacturer Liven SA apologizes to those potentially affected.
